I agree that the actions of Minor Keith clearly demonstrate how economic power could be just as powerful at taking over different terriories as military usage is. And it is important to understand that although Keith did not have American governmental control he still held a lot of power over these places because of his economic control, and was then able to control their governments and lands. The persecution of indigenous people due to U.S corporate greed is also very prevalent at this time and important to take into account when disscusing this.
