Hi Kolby, I like your conclusion sentence, "Finally, the New Deal redefined the federal government’s role in supporting citizens, but it also revealed how identity-race, gender, heritage and class, shaped one’s access to that support. Today, we continue to grapple with those same questions of equity, justice, and inclusion." Reading this made me wonder, how long will people that are not white have to fight for inclusivity and respect? These attempts that The New Deal made was a step toward a more equal future yet minorities are still struggling. We have come a long way but still cannot seem to agree on basic human rights for all.
