The 1930s were a time of extreme social and financial change for America. Between now and than, many different things have changes about the political and economical structures of our society. In both eras, many have faced great challenges such as inequality or social injustice through many different forms over the years. There are still many similarities between now and than and some traces of older social traditions and behaviors even still affect some to this very day. One thing that is somewhat similar to now from back than is the way that the great depression affected jobs. In todays era, many things such as jobs are hard to have good security on, In a way we can see how something like this relates to the great depression in that they both ar3e creating unequal opportunities to get and hold jobs while making the people willing to work have much harder times trying to hold there jobs. These while not exactly the same thing, show how rippling affects of the great depression and how people were affected by that era, can still be seen in modern society and how it affects us now.
The impact of the New Deal was not affecting people equally however, unlike the impact pf the great depression. While many programs would try to provide help to those who couldn't find any places to work, these wouldn't always be given out equally. They would often try to provide support to those who were selected but this was often very heavily motivated by race which would lead to many not being given support due to heavy amount of inequality controlling who got the benefits. This was heavily affecting African Americans as they were the main demographic that suffered the most because of the unequal support. This also however affected gender heavily, making women have a harder time getting opportunities from providers, but this also affected women of color the most leading to an even more obvious example of inequality based on race.
The overall themes and patterns of today can sometimes be very similar to past events that caused similar or the same things back when they happened. The struggles of unequal opportunities caused by racism are some of the tings that we can see still affect modern day. The discrimination caused by the New deal is one of the prime examples of how inequality has been affecting the country for years and highlights the complex and hard to deal with problems of modern day society, and the need to change so that we can give equal opportunity for everyone.
