It is interesting to see the relation of the great depression to the discriminations that dominated a greater part of this time period. When in crisis, it seems to have always been and still is a common theme to find a scapegoat or the need to have the majority population feeling like they are better off than, and more importantly, deserve to be better off than one group or another.
