WW ll had a very profound impact on all household across the nation in one way or another. When it comes to the average person during the war, ,most people were on edge for one reason or another. Many had to watch there loved ones go off to the war and having to deal with the stress of potentially not seeing your loved ones ever again is defiantly not something that would help you sleep at night. Most were also worried about terrorist attacks on the nation, the events of pearl harbor were some that stuck in the back of most people minds. While not likely to happen again, it was most likely something they always had to worry about.

The worries of war were defiantly taking a heavy toll on those who were at home, but that was only true if anyone was home to begin with. On top of most men begin drafted into the military to go serve, women also began to join the workforce which was one of the first times that women were able to start working on factory floors. This absent of anyone in these homes often resulted in caretakers having to look after the younger children, meanwhile teenagers through ages of 14-17 were often becoming employed due to the financial struggles of the war. The result of everyone in your typical household either being employed or serving in the army lead to many homes across America being rather empty for one of the first times in history. Even going into time periods after the war started to end, the way that the workforce had started to incorporate women on the factory floors would slowly start to influence the standard for women in the workforce.

This is also only taking into account homes in America, for other countries in particular, many had to evacuate their homes depending on where they were due to potential danger arising from the war. Many would loose their homes as a direct result and families would have to relocate with each other to be able to sleep in a house at all. The constant stress of war and potential danger this brough was defiantly not helping household during WW ll and would likely suggest that families and households in countries such as Germany were not having the greatest time during the war. They also had to worry about American soldiers would often take refuge in homes to spend nights if the option was available, so on top of worrying about the war, some random soldier might wander into your home and start using all of your stuff. In these soldiers defenses, they likely hadn't slept in a bed or taken a shower in a very long time so the depravity of basic needs they once had likely drove them to just walk into homes and take whatever they wanted.
