After learning about the different power movements in this module, I now understand that these movements are about people standing up for their rights, identities, and fair treatment. They’re not just about protest, they’re about demanding change and being seen and heard. Many of the groups, like the Chicana Power movement, the Disability Rights movement, the American Indian Movement, and others, all had things in common. They were led by people who felt ignored or mistreated by the government or society. They wanted equal rights, respect, and control over their own lives and communities. They used protests, speeches, art, and organizing to make their voices heard and push for justice.
