Moodle at GCC: Guide to Setting Up You First Classroom
Completion requirements
This lesson takes you through the work of creating a Moodle classroom.
What is Moodle?
GCC automatically creates a Moodle Shell when a course is added to Banner. We suggest using Moodle to manage materials, encourage online interaction, facilitate testing, collect assignments, and otherwise teach in-person, hybrid, and fully online courses.
GCC does not support Google Classroom or other LMS platforms, nor do we support platforms that are not integrated into Moodle.
Enrollments are also controlled by Banner, so as soon as instructor are assigned a course in Banner, it will appear in "Course overview" block on your Moodle Dashboard.
- Use the "Moodle" option on the "LOGIN" button on GCC homepage to access Moodle.
- Use the same username and password as for MyGCC and your GCC email.
- Use the search tool in the "Course overview" block if you don't see it. Click the title of a classroom to enter it.
