Many faculty and students find the "Course overview" block displays courses they do not want to see. Here is the recommended method of customizing exactly the courses you want to see:

1) On each course you want to display, click "Star this course" in the "three dots" menu for the course.

    • If the courses you want to see are difficult to find, search for them using the "Custom course menu." Open the course, then use "Last accessed" under the "Sort by" menu in the "Course overview" block. This will put the recent courses at the top of the "Course overview" block, so they are easy to find.

2) Once you have starred all of the courses you want to display;

3) Choose "Starred" under the filter menu which is directly under the "Course overview" label in the block.

When you return to Moodle it will have saved this filter preference, so the starred courses will display in the "Course overview" block until you change the filter setting.
