Forum Subscriptions

Moodle users who are subscribed to forums will receive an email notification when posts are made. When an instructor creates a forum in Moodle, they can set one of four subscription settings; students can opt out of some settings.

The ?Course announcements? forum that is added to every Moodle classroom is set to ?Forced subscription,? so users receive an email of every post. This is by design.

If the ?Subscription mode? is set to ?Optional subscription? or ?Auto subscription,? then students can use the check box to opt-in or opt-out of receiving notifications.
