We have Moodle configured so that YouTube videos are automatically embedded whenever the a YouTube URL is pasted into and item created using the ATTO text editor, including forum posts (by faculty and students), online text submissions for assignments, and descriptions.

YouTube URL's are available in many places, including the "share" button on the video page, and several locations in studio.youtube.com. Any of these will result in embedded videos.

Embedding YouTube videos is preferable to linking to them as comments and advertisements, are not displayed, and recommended videos are minimized.
