Let's take a look at the changes to the grade book in Moodle 4.2.

First, to enter the grade book, click grades in your navigation tabs.

In grades manually on the grade report, enable editing mode. Edit to the grades, then click save changes.

When you're done entering grades, disable editing.

To collapse a category in the greater report, click the three dots and choose show totals only.

To expand it, click the three dots and show grades and totals.

To quickly find specific students, use the filter by name option.

The single view interface has changed. To find it, click the greater report menu, then single view. Decide if you want to see single users or great items. Then select the user or the item.

From the menu. Edit these grades, enable editing mode again. If entering grades of feedback is disallowed, click override button to save the changes. Then disable editing.

Notice the categories are collapsible here in grade book setup as well. To edit weights or other settings, enable edit mode here in the grade book setup. Once you have finished making changes, disable the edit mode.

Under the actions menu, you can also edit the categories or edit the grade items.

As with the previous version, the easiest way to see the grades displayed to students is to choose grade book setup, user report, then select the user.

The user report now has collapsible categories also.

If you're not seeing all the students you expect to see on the grader report, make sure the filter is set to all first names and all last names.
