Academic standing is a system that GCC uses to assess when students are achieving grades that put them on track to graduate. If a student is in good academic standing in most cases they are achieving the grades they need to graduate. Students need to achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher (a C average) to graduate. If at some point you end up on academic review or academic probation your advisor will work with you to connect you with additional support and resources to help you succeed in your classes. Our goal in this work is to help you identify and use the strategies and resources that will help you return to good standing and support you throughout this process.

Your academic standing is calculated following each fall and spring semester. Please keep in mind that some programs require higher grades in specific courses to remain on track.
