I was placed on suspension or dismissal, what now?

We know it is difficult to learn that you have been placed on academic suspension or dismissal. 

• You will be administratively withdrawn from any future courses that you have registered for, and you will not be able to register for classes without first having an academic standing appeal approved
• If you were placed on academic suspension you will be able to submit an academic standing appeal to request to return to GCC after one semester away.
• If you were placed on academic dismissal you will need to submit an academic standing appeal to request to return to GCC. 

All students placed on suspension or dismissal receive an email explaining the situation and their next steps. We recommend reviewing the email that notified you of your academic standing and contacting Carter McClintock, Coordinator of Academic Intervention and Recovery (mcclintockc@gcc.mass.edu, or 413-203-4272) if you have any questions.
