Academic Advisor/Success Coaches

Your Academic Advisor/Success Coach is a dedicated student support staff member.  They work with you one-on-one to set goals, stay organized and find the resources you need to thrive. Taking a holistic approach, focused on academics, wellbeing and balance, they’ll help you stay motivated, build confidence and reach your goals.  They will also help you plan and register for classes, as well as explore academic, transfer and career options. 


Faculty Advisors

Students in some degree or certificate programs are assigned a faculty advisor.  A faculty advisor is an instructor (professor) who also is an advisor.  Faculty advisors help you plan and register for classes, as well as explore academic, transfer and career options. 


The Advising Center

Some students may not have an assigned Advisor or Success Coach.  It could be because the semester just started, and you will be assigned one soon.  There are some students that aren't assigned a specific person but instead are assigned to the Advising Center for advising and success coaching.  

If you don't have an assigned advisor or success coach, you can meet with any advisor in the Academic Advising Center (AAC) during Drop In Advising hours or requesting an appointment with our front desk at  advising@gcc.mass.edu (413) 775-1339.

  • Monday-Thursday 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Friday 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
