Most students enrolled in a degree or certificate program are assigned to a faculty advisor based on their major. Many students are also assigned an academic advisor/success coach. 

Advisor assignments are typically completed during the first week of your first semester. Until then, all students are welcome in the Advising Center.

Non-matriculated students (also called Guest Students), are students who are not enrolled in a degree or certificate program but are taking GCC classes.  Guest students are advised by Advising Center staff. Any advisor in the office can help!

Most faculty advisors are not on contract during January and summer.  During these periods, or any time you are having trouble getting in touch with your assigned advisor, all students are welcome in the Advising Center. 

If you don't have an assigned advisor or success coach, you can meet with any advisor in the Academic Advising Center (AAC) during Drop In Advising hours or requesting an appointment with our front desk at  advising@gcc.mass.edu (413) 775-1339.

Success coaching is accessible to all students in need of additional support; if you do not have a Success Coach and would like one, you can request one
