On your schedule there is column that says either ROOM or LOCATION, and that is where we find our classrooms. 

Classrooms on your schedule will have 1 letter followed by 3 numbers: 

  • The letter E means your class is in the East building, which is the smaller building on the right when you enter GCC's campus. 
  • The letter N means your class is in the main building on the North side. 
  • The letter S means your classroom is on the main building on the South side
  • The letter C means your classroom is in the main building in the Core or Center. 

Most of us don't carry a compass with us these days, so a good trick is if you are looking at the main building from the bustop, the NORTH is the right side and the South is to the left, with the CORE/CENTER being directly in the middle. 

And remember! E is not part of the main building, but is the EAST Buidling, which is on your right when you enter campus. 

What are these numbers? 

The numbers tell you not only your exact classroom, but they also tell you what floor your classroom is on. For example if the first of the three numbers is a "1" like in room 101, you would know your classroom is on the 1st floor. If it was 201, you would know your classroom is on the 2nd floor, and if your classroom was 301, you would know your classroom is on the 3rd floor. 

Let's put them all together! 

So, if your classroom on your schedule said N301, we would know because of the "N" it's on the North side of the main building, and because the first number is a 3, we would know it's on the 3rd floor!  

If your schedule says your classroom is S105, that would mean your classroom is in the South side of the mainbuilding on the 1st floor. 

If your schedule says E101, that would mean your classroom is in the East buidling on the 1st floor. 

It takes a little bit to get used to, so please always ask someone for help if you have any trouble. Before you know it you'll know campus like the back of your hand!

What if There Isn't a Room Number?

Any online class will say "ONLINE" or be blank, which means your class has no meeting time and you will be completing your work on Moodle without any virtual meetings. 

If it says Synchronous, that means your class will meet virtually at specific time each week, and you will be able to find the link for that in your Moodle.
