Hello Kathy, so nice to hear from you!! I really appreciate reading your perspective and agree with some of the points you made. Your points about the challenges that the African Americans faced once freed is important to understand that even after they were free, racism and laws suppressed their rights, therefore creating new struggles. Which you have outlined perfectly. However, I do disagree with your idea that this period was soley about moving toward justice. You mentioned the role of the KKK and I believe you could have emphasized more about how their role prevented African Americans from gaining their respected rights that they have fought for. I think your discussion shows the hardships that led up to reconstruction and reconstruction itself very well! best regards- kelsea
