Since we do not have synchronous (live) classes, you are required to show your engagement each week with the assigned content. You are off to a great start here. You specifically point to a moment in the Ken Burns documentary that highlights to the extent of warfare during the Civil War. The War was fought across the country and within families. It redefined both our understanding of freedom and the role of the federal government in our lives. There are many throughlines to our current moment, as I have mentioned in a previous response.
