Welcome to the class. I am interested in the focus that you have taken here by relying on The Journal of Economic History for your posting. Why do you say that "we may find (Grant) his actions somewhat relevant today"? What throughlines do you see between Grant's leadership as President and the current state of affairs?
Also, if you are finding that the online environment is still a bit of a shift for you, I would still urge you to consider changing to the online version of this class that meets virtually once a week via Zoon on Tuesdays and foregoing these discussion requirements.
