The reconstruction era was able bring multiple important acts to help shape the country. It started with the abolishment of slavery which discontinued the harsh and unfair practices that slaves had to endure. It also introduced other important acts such as the 14th and 15th amendments which gave equal rights and voting access to everyone regardless of color. Both of these factors were crucial in bringing America to a more fair and equal place for everyone. The other very important thing the reconstruction era did was take steps to attempt to reunite the south more in line with the union. All of these acts together ended up creating a very prominent push for our country that would lead us into a more fair and just place to live in. In my opinion freedom as a concept is the ability to live and be able to do whatever you desire and the restriction of such seems wrong if unwarranted. The steps taken to provide freedom to slaves and people of color during the Reconstruction Era were very important ones as freeing them from unfair laws that kept them from doing certain acts was a definitive step towards giving them the same freedoms that everyone else had.

With the end of the reconstruction era the people and activists of the south began to feel under attack some form. They began to fear that their rights were being stripped from them as people of color began to gain the same rights and freedoms as them. This began to spark a tension and led to groups such as the Ku Klux Klan being formed and acts such as the Jim Crow laws being passed which suppressed certain freedoms such as the right to vote. Many redeemers and others mostly were not happy with the laws and amendments being passed so they tried to do whatever possible to keep make sure that they wouldn't loose any of their rights. Some of the acts they used would include way to convince others that the acts being passed would have negative affects on them, or to cause widespread violence to remain in some sort of control.
