Chromebooks and Moodle
GCC has identified a problem with how we have Moodle configured. As a result, the "file picker" that points to students' G Suite accounts does not work. (We expect to have this resolved early in the fall 2019 semester.) These steps will allow Chromebook users to submit PDF files now (and even after the file picker is working):
1) Open the file in G Suite, then File ? Print
2) Change the ?Destination? to ?Save to Google Drive?
3) Click ?Save?
Step 3 will create a PDF file in your Google Drive. It?s name is ?Whatever the original was ? Google Docs.pdf?
4) Open the assignment in Moodle.
5) Click to submit your file.
6) Click the icon to ?Add? (it look like a piece of paper)
7) Click upload a file.
8) You should see your document in Google Drive
9) Find the one you created in step 3
10) Select it and upload.
Please do reach out to Dr. Gary Ackerman, the coordinator of instructional technology, is these do not work. A student confirmed they work in summer 2019, but Dr. Ackerman has not actually tried it. Dr. Ackerman can be reached at 413-775-1867 or ackermang@gcc.mass.edu; his office is E132N.
