Communicating with faculty & staff
Completion requirements
1) Use your GCC student email. This is the official tool for communication and how we can verify it's really you. You can forward it to a personal account if that helps you check it more often, but you are responsible for everything that comes to this account.
Not sure what your student email address is? If you've logged in to Moodle you're halfway there - it's your username + @stuemail@gcc.mass.edu
Always use a subject line in your emails - this helps avoid things getting sent to Spam!
3) Be patient. When we work and learn remotely, it can be tempting to think everyone is online all the time, but most offices still maintain "business hours." If you email at night or over the weekend, keep in mind someone is probably not going to see it until the next weekday.4) Try to avoid sending the same email to multiple people/offices. It's not always clear who can help you with a certain issue - and it's totally fine to ask more than one person or resource for help. When you do, include everyone you're reaching out to in the same email using the CC line. This way everyone will be in the know. It helps you get the best answer and it helps staff avoid doubling efforts.
