"Collapsed topics" adds topics that can be expanded or collapsed to show or hide all of the items contained in it. This makes it easier to navigate courses compared to scrolling through long lists of items. This video illustrates how this course format works for students:   To use "Collapsed topics" in your course:

  • Open the "Gear menu"
  • Click edit "Edit settings"
  • Scroll down to "Course format"
  • Click to expand "Course format"
  • Choose "Collapsed Topics" from the "Format" menu.
  • Notice the options for editing the appearance appear; edit these options or accept the defaults
  • Click "Save and return" or "Save and display"


We recommend these options when configuring "Collapsed topics:"

set elements to "No additions."
colors to FFFFFF and 0584B.
